Arise & Shine

Isaiah 60:1-2 AMP Classic

Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!

For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness [all] peoples, but the Lord shall arise upon you [O Jerusalem], and His glory shall be seen on you.

We know the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Christ came that we might have life and life more abundantly. God wants to give you an abundant life in Him. Not just abundant financially, but a life that is also abundant in joy, peace, love, grace, goodness. He wants to restore you spiritually, emotionally, physically, and financially. When Jesus restores you or resurrects you, He restores you not to where you were before but to where He ordained you to be. One of the meanings of resurrection is a moral recovery of spiritual truth. God wants you to discover the spiritual truth of who He designed you to be.

Just because you have gone through some things does not mean that God can’t use you. It doesn’t mean that He casts you out. We, as humans, want spotless vessels that have never been tried. But God likes to use vessels that have withstood the flames and been proven. The word trying or testing in Greek is dokimos {dok'-ee-mos}. It means approval, accepted, pleasing, acceptable. It means something that has been tested, proven, or scrutinized. It is a word found on the undersides of many ancient pieces of pottery. This mark dokimos means that the piece has gone through the furnace without cracking and has been approved for service. Dokimos vessels have stood the test. They have been tested to be trustworthy; of sterling worth, like silver which is cleansed of all alloys or impurities." God's chosen vessels who have been approved for royal service are marked "dokimos."

God wants to heal you and restore you. He wants your heart to be whole and He wants to put His mark upon you. Not that you have always been perfect…not that you are immature, but He wants to declare you as one who has endured the flames and come forth pure. God wants you to be one who has allowed every obstacle, every opposition, every hurt, every pain to drive you into the presence of your Lord and God to seek Him even the more. You are not defined by your issues or struggles. You are to be defined by your God. People want to put their label upon you and they’ll label you according to your weaknesses. People will label you according to your struggles, but God marks you based on your victory. Allow Him to heal you today and declare you one of His chosen vessels. It’s time to arise from where circumstances have tried to place you and to embrace your God identity.
