Preparing for Suddenlies

“I have declared the former things from the beginning; they went forth from My mouth, and I caused them to hear it. Suddenly I did them, and they came to pass.” Isaiah 48:3 NKJV

Many of us began 2020 with high expectations. We were excited about entering a new decade. We were believing God to do mighty things this year. But as this first 5 months of the year have progressed, we have rapidly become discouraged. Somehow a thief named COVID-19 has robbed many of us. It has stolen our joy, our expectation, and our excitement about this year and this decade. For many it has robbed us of loved ones, jobs and means of income as well as our ability to feel safe navigating our communities and cities. The enemy has tried to use this very real pandemic to erode and eat away at the faith of God’s people.

I’m not telling you the pandemic is not real. I’m not telling you to not use wisdom regarding your health and well-being. But, what I am saying is that COVID-19 nor any opposition nor any demonic force has the final say regarding your life. God has the final say! If you are a son or daughter of the King of kings, and properly aligned with Him, then there is much ahead for you. Everything that God has spoken about this year and decade still stands. The plans of God have not been thwarted. He declared the end before the beginning (Isaiah 46:10). He did not tell us about all the twists and turns along the way. He did not describe the opposition. But what He did tell us is:

He would never leave you nor forsake youHebrews 13:5 NKJV: Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.

He watches over His Word to perform itJeremiah 1:12 ASV: Then said Jehovah unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I watch over my word to perform it.

He declared that we are overcomers through HimRomans 8:37: But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

He promised to fight for youIsaiah 49:25 NIV: But this is what the LORD says: "Yes, captives will be taken from warriors, and plunder retrieved from the fierce; I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children I will save.

He promised to strengthen and help you - Isaiah 41:10: So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

He promised to protect and deliver you - Psalm 34:7: The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.

He promised you His JoyJohn 15:9-11 NIV: As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

God is yet moving and He is about to do some things suddenly that we have been waiting on for a while. This is not the time to get in agreement with circumstances, but this is the time to lift up your voice and begin to decree, declare and prophesy what the Lord has spoken. The year, 2020 in the Greco-Roman calendar, coincides with the Hebrew year 5780, 80 being part of the “Pey” (rhymes with “pay”) decade. Just as 2019/5779 was a continuation of the last ten years in the “Ayin” decade of the seeing eye where God invited us to “see” what He is saying, this year and the nine years to follow we are to “speak” what God has shown us.

Don’t be silent in this season. Don’t back away from prayer, but begin to speak, to say what God is saying regarding your life and your circumstances. Echo His Words! Speak not the desires of your heart nor the appearance of your situation but allow Holy Spirit to reveal to you the plans of His Heart. Then align your words with what is on the heart of God. Let your words help to create the environment for the manifestation of the suddenlies of God!

Habakkuk 2:3

“For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay.
